You shouldn't forget, having the possibility winning a ring could attract enough players going out there for minimum wage. I mean it's still 1 million $ it isn't that those guys are playing for nothing. Next up, I think, even if one of those guys gets injured, it's still one of the best teams in the league, I mean there are still two All-Stars playing out there (Wade/Lebron, Lebron/Bosh or Wade/Bosh). But we still have the possibility that two of those players get hurt, I mean playing for 40+ minutes, 82 games + postseason, that is risky, for every player. Unless they can attract enough good players, desperately wanting a ring and joining those three.
And yes, he became a villain, not that much because he changed is uniform, the more, because he waited so long to announce his decision and did it on enemy territory. I think if he said from the beginning, "guys, I want a ring, I can't win it here, so I join Bosh and Wade in Miami" I bet everyone would have understood, because a ring is the ultimate goal, you are no champion unless you have a ring to prove it.
All in all I just see one good thing standing out, Joakim Noah can't tell Lebron that nobody wants to go to Miami on vacation and Miami's just not that good.
And in the end I think Lebron will get his trophy in Miami, if that's the goal this guys have aimed. If not, than I don't even understand why this guy is playing basketball, when he could just go anywhere with his friends, partying and enjoying his millions. Because he definitely has enough money to retire and make party anywhere on this world.

Well said HK91! I might have to get you to write some features on here some time. The thing is that with a possible lockout looming, who will be willing to sign for nearly nothing just to play with these guys. We can't forget that the NBA is still a business and that means I am not sure they can gather a competent enough supporting cast. All three guys can't be in the game every minute which means they'll always have to watch leads evaporate once they're on the bench and play catch up. And we haven't even mentioned the possibility of somebody getting hurt. The injury risk will increase dramatically with all the minutes they'll be playing. I hope it was worth it for LeBron. He can never go back to his home town. He instantly became a villain in every city except Miami. He basically told everybody in Cleveland that having a fun time, playing and partying with his friends is more important to him than a) winning and b) winning one for a sports traumatized city like Cleveland. Of course if he hoists the O'Brien trophyin 11 months I'll look like a complete fool. We'll see...

I won't say that I know the sports world as good as The Average Fan, no. But I still think that with those guys (Wade, Lebron and Bosh) everything else, than a championship would be disappointing. Let's face it, if you have three All-Stars on your team, three guys who won an olympic gold medal, are you serious? If they aren't supposed to win, what they are supposed to do? Because IF the "new big 3" plays good team ball, they are unbeatable, there is no chance anybody beats them. IF everyone of them can give something away from their usual game, IF they can put being a team in front of being stars. Yes in the olympics it did work, but do you truly think it will work 82 games per season and 16 (yes I think that they don't need more to win the championship) playoff games. Last IF, IF Pat Riley is able to put them together, to form a team, who would be able to stop 'em? To hurt Lebron, Wade and Bosh the way the C's have done in the playoffs with two of them, let's not forget, they nearly swept the Heat last year.
I tell you, everything else despite a championship for these guys would be a big disappointment.
Maybe Lebron should have staid in Cleveland, their is nothing like being at home, I understand his decisions not to go to Chicago (the pressure being a second MJ would be too big for Lebron), not to go to Knicks (he in fact would have to be MJ). But I never have seen three NBA stars of that magnitude coming together in one team, maybe it was about the money (taxes), but I still think what Lebron, Wade and Bosh did, destroyed the NBA.
My last question, who will give up the ball and step behind the other guy, Bosh isn't that great, so he isn't in this conversation, but what's with Lebron and Wade, what weighs more? Royality (Lebron) or being at home (Wade)? Who will be the biggest fish in this pond full of big fish? Who will be their MVP?
